The UNSW Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI) is delighted to extend heartfelt congratulations to Dr Divya Nair on her recent appointment as Deputy Director within our esteemed research centre.


Divya Nair brings a wealth of expertise to her role, particularly in the realm of transport engineering, operations research, and optimization. Her specialized focus encompasses areas such as freight and humanitarian logistics, transport network design, resilience, sustainability, and disaster management. Notably, she has collaborated on impactful projects with entities such as SCATS, TfNSW, RMS, SES, NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, Government of India, Government of Indonesia, and non-profit organizations like OzHarvest and Foodbank.


Beyond her academic pursuits, Divya serves as the academic lead for Systems Engineering in UNSW's Sunswift racing initiative since 2021. The Sunswift 7, under the academic team's guidance, has already achieved a remarkable Guinness World Record by covering 1000km on a single charge in under 12 hours, a feat accomplished in December 2022.


At rCITI, we are dedicated to pioneering globally-leading interdisciplinary solutions, with a particular focus on three critical dimensions: Emerging mobility technology, Human behavior & choice, and Institutional/market landscape. By seamlessly integrating these elements, our center aspires to create a lasting societal impact and contribute significantly to the dynamic evolution of the transportation landscape.


rCITI is based within the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering. Fostering interdisciplinary research across UNSW groups and actively building connections with industry and government to transform core research into practical solutions with a tangible impact.
